The Challenge - Anti Social Behaviour
Rhondda Cynon Taf had experienced anti-social behaviour and criminal activity in specific hotspots, often out of range for conventional CCTV systems. The events tended to shift between areas.
The local Community Safety Partnership aims to continuously engage the local people and reassure them that action is being taken where it is most needed.
Though they already had an extensive CCTV network, to pro-actively tackle anti-social behaviour in the borough, officers needed cameras that they could install in a matter of hours and could be monitored remotely from any location.
The Solution - 4G Redeployable CCTV
To effectively tackle anti-social behaviour across varying locations, Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Community Safety partnership deployed several Redeployable CCTV Cameras.
One of the key benefits of Redeployable CCTV is easily moving the cameras to a new location should the monitoring requirements change.
WCCTV’s 4G IR Speed Dome is specifically designed to deliver live and recorded high definition images via 4G mobile transmission; it combines an infrared PTZ camera, local recording capacity (up to 4TB) and wireless transmission technology into a single, lightweight unit.
Live and recorded footage can be accessed via 4G, 3G, and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to remotely view and download the video via smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC, or integration to an existing control room.
The Result
“We have had activity on the street in Aberaman monitored by a police officer in a patrol car in Aberdare and also by an officer in a command centre in Pontypridd.
The technology is incredible, and I hope it serves as reassurance to our residents that we are committed to investing in innovative measures to tackle crime and disorder.”
