Safer Streets in Northamptonshire with Redeployable CCTV and Help Points
Northamptonshire Police is the latest authority to install WCCTV's unique Help Point solution to help boost their Safer Streets initiatives.
West Northamptonshire Council, in partnership with the Office of Police and Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC), was successful in a Safer Streets Funding bid to the Home Office.
The partnership was awarded over £500,000 to reduce crime and make communities safer, plus an additional £300,000 grant to reduce Violence Against Women and Girls in the town centre.
Part of that grant funding has been utilised to install WCCTV Help Point systems at the town's Racecourse and Becket's Park areas.
WCCTV Help Point systems have been developed in response to the growing threat of violence and attacks on women and girls across the UK.
The system provides a refuge point where anyone who feels in danger can activate an alert button and receive immediate support from a local control room.
The operator can assess the situation via WCCTV Redeployable CCTV Cameras, record any activity in the area and dispatch local police to assist if required.
The video below demonstrates how it works:
The system is one of the many ways WCCTV's redeployable cameras are being used to support safer streets.
