Safer Streets in Gwent
Gwent Police have installed six WCCTV redeployable cameras to support their Safer Streets initiatives across the region.
The cameras have been installed at critical locations in the Rhymney area and will be used to tackle neighbourhood crimes such as vehicle crime and fuel theft.
The purchase of the cameras has been funded by a successful grant award from the government's Safer Streets fund of £300,000, which can be used to fund any schemes that improve neighbour safety - including CCTV.
WCCTV's redeployable CCTV systems are entirely portable, giving police the ability to crack down on crime hotspots, tackle neighbourhood crime, deter theft, and identify suspects.
The systems transmit live and recorded video using in-built 4G technology, meaning they can be accessed readily by the police without using specialist equipment.
To support the Safer Streets initiative, WCCTV is offering reduced prices on any systems purchased using grant funding.
